We are so thrilled to announce that Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul was honored with the President’s Award for Community Partnership by the Seed Coalition!

The Seed Coalition aims to strengthen the capacity of colleges and universities to fulfill the public purposes of higher education through its partnerships with diverse college campuses in Iowa, Minnesota, and the Midwest. Their network includes rural and urban campuses, public universities and private colleges, community colleges, and trade schools. Their work aims to connect higher education professionals who work in the spaces of community and civic engagement to educate students through community experiences to engage them in a stronger democracy.

On Friday, April 11th, Hamline University hosted the Seed Coalition’s Annual Award Ceremony, a yearly gathering to recognize special achievements on campus and in the community. We were delighted to send our CEO Liliana Letran-Garcia as well as the director of Opportunity St. Paul, Rachel Morey to attend this amazing ceremony, not only to accept the Community Partner Award but also to meet amazing leaders on our local campuses and across our community.

The President’s Community Partner Award recognizes a community-based partner or organization that has enhanced the quality of life in the community in meaningful and measurable ways and has engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with the college or university, thus enriching educational as well as community outcomes. Hamline University, whose students volunteered as Faithful Hospitality overnight hosts at Hamline Church nominated IFA for this award.

It was a joy to celebrate the work of Interfaith Action & Faithful Hospitality and to learn more about amazing work happening on campuses across the region!
