Help our community’s little brothers and sisters achieve their goals
AIYE volunteers work within the Eastside of St. Paul to provide academic support and serve as mentors to Indigenous youth in our community.
Our volunteers provide Indigenous elementary and middle school students at the American Indian Magnet School with the support to grow in their identity as Indigenous youth, become advocates for their cultures, and succeed in school with the aid of positive, caring individuals.
Reading support, homework help, positive role models, game time leaders, classroom assistance…these are just a few of the ways American Indian children at American Indian Magnet School (AIMS) need your help and support so that they can succeed in middle school and high school. Make a difference for our Indigenous youth and volunteer as a classroom assistant with American Indian Youth Enrichment!
- No previous experience necessary; a required orientation is provided
- All volunteers are welcome (high school students should be in 10th-12th grade and have their parent/guardian’s permission to volunteer)
- Time commitment is one day per week (2 hours for after-school, 6 hours for summer program)
- Volunteer availability: morning and afternoon hours at AIMS during summer program (afternoons during the school year)
