Rev. Rachel McIver Morey

Director, Opportunity Saint Paul

Rachel McIver Morey has worked in, with, and around faith communities in Minnesota for two decades both as a pastor and as a faith community organizer. As an ordained United Methodist clergywoman, she has led congregations in Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, and Northfield. Much of her organizing work, particularly in the metro area, has been focused on youth in crisis, housing, and hunger. She was also on the leadership team for an interfaith forum series based in the Twin Cities, and she has been part of a regional effort to provide free legal resources for low-income residents of Rice County.

Rachel earned her BA in Religion and Philosophy from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS, and her Master’s of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.  She is an alumna of the fellowship program of the Collegeville Ecumenical Institute, and she has received several local and regional awards for her work to ensure young people in the suburban northwest have access to shelter and other resources.

She has a spouse, two kids, two cats, too many guitars, and a strong connection to the family farm in south central Kansas where she grew up.
