Jody Emmings
Chief Executive Officer
Jody joined the organization as Chief Program Officer in January 2025, leading the strategy and growth of Interfaith Action’s programs and working closely with program leaders to ensure they meet community needs. A year later, the Board of Directors named her as Interim CEO. Jody collaborates across faith traditions and professional networks to address issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, and community well-being—building partnerships and fostering dialogue that strengthens the social fabric of the Twin Cities. As CEO, she is focused on strengthening organizational clarity, deepening partnerships, and aligning strategy with mission to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Jody is a dynamic leader whose work bridges education, service, and hands-on craft, shaped by a deep commitment to equity and a global perspective. With more than 30 years of experience across community engagement, education, philanthropy, and organizational leadership, Jody brings a deep understanding of how to build systems that support both people and long-term impact. Before joining IFA, Jody directed Macalester College’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation hub, overseeing six core programs, an annual ideathon, and launching the Idea Lab—expanding opportunities for bold ideas and hands-on problem-solving.
In addition to her community leadership, Jody is an artist and entrepreneur, as well as a skilled welder—bringing a creative, hands-on dimension to her work. This craft informs her approach to leadership: practical, resilient, and grounded in the belief that strong structures—whether metal or community—are built with intention, patience, and care.
