Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day 2025
On October 13th 2025, we gathered with the community to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day!
It was a beautiful day of celebration, community, and culture. The sun came out and so did the people — filling the space with laughter, songs, and the heartbeat of the drum. We were honored to come together in unity to honor our ancestors and celebrate seven generations — past, present, and future. The day was filled with powerful moments, including drums and traditional dancers, crafts for our youth, poetry performances, Aztec dancers sharing vibrant culture, traditional lacrosse and archery, delicious food sponsored by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, and partner organizations all coming together in the spirit of community and connection. We extend our deepest gratitude to all of our partners, sponsors, and volunteers who made this day possible — and to every community member who showed up with open hearts and good energy. Together, we continue to lift each other up, celebrate our identities, and remind the world what it means to be a Good Relative.
Pidamaya ye to everyone who joined us — until next year!
