Liliana Letran-Garcia Selected as Interfaith Action’s New Chief Executive Officer

We are thrilled to share the news that the Board of Directors has selected Liliana Letran-Garcia to serve as the organization’s chief executive officer. She will begin in her leadership role October 2.

“Liliana has a strong commitment to social justice and community development combined with a deep understanding of the role the interfaith community can play in addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality,” says Board Chair Cyndi Lesher. “She has proven leadership skills and incredible energy. We look forward to what she will bring to Interfaith Action.”

A diverse committee of community leaders, board members, and staff—guided by the firm of Ballinger Leafblad—led the CEO search process, which attracted dozens of applications.

Letran-Garcia most recently served as Vice President of Programs for Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) where she oversaw development and implementation of CLUES’ annual operational plan to promote social and economic equity and overall wellbeing of Latinx and immigrant communities in Minnesota. She managed a diverse portfolio of programs that included housing stability, access to food and healthcare, employment support, legal services, domestic violence assistance, and early childhood and youth programs. She was an integral part of a team that successfully secured $10.5 million in annual government and private sector contracts for CLUES programs.

Prior to CLUES, she held leadership positions at Virtual Radiologic, People Serving People, and Navicore Solutions. She also led large teams for Target Financial Services and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Letran-Garcia has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad San Carlos Guatemala.

“I am energized by the opportunity to lead an organization that unites diverse faith and spiritual communities in a shared mission to uplift our neighbors, enhance their stability, and promote their economic wellbeing,” says Letran-Garcia. “This role allows me to leverage the collective strength of our interfaith communities to make a meaningful impact. I am excited about the possibilities for the transformative change that I believe we can achieve together.”
